The 30 Days of Night is a comic series of three short stories and each story of the series has enough reason to shake one up with the horrible and fearful stories. The line of horror comics has very well been represented and even brought to a new level by this comic series for which one must praise the great works done by a team of creative and enthusiastic people. The team is led by Steve Niles, the writer and some other indispensable person like Ben Templesmith responsible for ornamenting the comic with inside art, Ashley Wood for the brilliant cover work, Robbie Robbins for letters and design and the IDW Publishing for publishing the comic series.

The story of the comic 30 Days Of Night is one of most thrilling and scary that focuses on the vampires and their cruel operations of eating mankind in a small town of Alaska, named as Barrow and is based in the northernmost part of the state. The town faces a one month, i.e., a 30 days period of no sun rise during November 18th to December 17th and the temperature too remains below the freezing condition.

It is at this time that the protagonist of the story Sheriff Eben Olemaun and his wife Stella finds that all means of communication like their mobile phone are being stolen and destroyed and some mysterious kind of people seen demanding for raw meat. These unknown people are then discovered as vampires by them who started destroying the city by eating up its people uninterrupted by any outer force. As Eben and Stella have no means to come into contact with the outer world, they have to fight back to the vampires. The comic further contains a thrilling and interesting story on Eben’s fight with the vampires for saving his wife and his town.

The story of the comic is truly breathtaking with a scary situation being created by the excellent artwork of Templesmith.

The story is reasonably decent and the anguish portrayed is good to read. It was, in fact, a pleasure to read the torment editions.

The art by Dustin Nguyen is remarkable as always. The super hero who actually seems to be in torment in the story is Superman. On the other hand, Batman is more into action than anything else.

Alan Burnett did a good job in providing mystery to the story. Moreover, the dialogues also made the plot quite fair and interesting.

The storyline in the TBP issue was wrapped up, however, it succeeds in leaving a tease like the original story for the next issue, which was called ‘Death of the New Gods’.

Coming from the house of DC comics, the issues were originally published in Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec 2007, and Jan 2008.

Amongst some of the spoilers in the story is the portrayal of putting Bruce through Torment. Alan Burnett version was rather different from one of the earlier versions of Grant Morrsion.

The TPB was released in Feb 201. So if you still haven’t got a copy for yourself, get it soon.

Trying to be different and unique in the world of adventure comics, the writer Paul Levitz has put in his best efforts to make this issue a success. But the story in this issue has wide a number of characters making it too confusing to the readers. Moreover, even the background story this time is to messy creating a lot of puzzle.

With this issue, Levitz intend to enter the readers in the world of the Legion of Super-Heroes. In some way, the writer succeeds in doing so, while not entirely, because in quite a few instances, he fails to keep the reader hook on to the story.

This introductory issue of the ‘Legion of Super Heroes’ has nine different Legion Heroes and the story has all spices of emotions like love, war, adventure, wrath etc., but overall it is not as exciting as most other adventure comics.

The art of Francis Portela along with others in his team, were really great and very interesting, which threw life on the animated characters. Phil Jimenez, who developed the backup tale was also very artistic and interesting.

On the whole, with an average story, great animation and some interesting plots, the Legion of Super Heroes is expected to catch hold of attention of its fans of late.

Comic readers now have a new comic worth buying and that’s Flash Gordon 4. Reading this review about the same comic will help you make up your mind that whether you want to pick it up or not from a comic store near your house. This action comic from the house of Ardeen Entertainment comes packed with a number of new characters.

Read Flash Gordon 4 and get to know about the political landscape and some exciting action. This dense comic opens up with Ming’s campaign in Frigia as Ming Challenges, Fria, the ruler. Also, read about the fighting tales of Prince Barin from Fria’s side in the battlefields.

As you will read Flash Gordon 4, you will know that Prince Barin learns that his girlfriend, Ming’s daughter, Aura is alive. Once this fact is known to the Prince, he disappears from the battleground dismaying Fria. In short, Flash Gordon 4 is a comic packed with an interactive plot and the artwork is also fabulous.

Every page of Flash Gordon 4 is in fact filled with images, storytelling visuals and backgrounds that make reading it a sheer pleasure.
