This issue of the Amazing Spider Man has been wonderfully written by Dan Slott, but feels more like a filler issue than anything. The issue sees Spider Man and Black Cat teaming up with the latter making a comeback after almost 14 issues. They gear up together to teach Mr. Negative a lesson.

The issue also sees Black Cat flirting with Spider Man as usual and also attempting to link up with him in the hideout of the bad guys. The issue is overall entertaining and readers also get to see the ripples caused by the negative side of Aunt May. She in no ways feels like the sweet Aunt May of the old and the readers would rather want to see her older self.

The character of MJ seems to have the known substance that was lacking in some of the previous issues. The story gives a feeling that it may be Spider Man’s pause through the Gauntlet and the end also suggest that the issue is all set for its next stage.

The next villain also makes an entry in the issue and readers can expect a lot more action in the upcoming issues. Michael lark and Matt Hollingsworth have worked wonderfully in tandem and make the issue bright and sparkling. The series would also see the Lizard in action very soon and that would certainly add to the fun of the series. This issue, which is available at $2.99 can till then take care of the readers’ appetite.

The Amazing Spider Man has had an interesting and very artistic line up when you talk about the last two months. The succeeding act of “The Gauntlet” uber plot has Spider Man facing the Sandman after he dispatched Electro in the previous issue. Fred Van Lente has used the character of Sandman in a very different way than the character of Electro used by Mark Waid. He has combined different aspects to the story and given it a beautiful turn which seems just about perfect.

The art work by Pulido is exceptional with usage of simple colour schemes that fits the comic world perfectly. Javier Rodriguez colours unlike the over digitalized colours of Marvel comics are flat and subtle. He uses the classical style in a wonderful way without making it look dated and this definitely adds much charm to the comic book. The plot of this issue revolves around Spider Man investigating a series of murder and search for a missing girl. The girl disappears as a snowman begins talking with her and she is led to a secret kingdom.

Van Lente’s choice to use this scene as a recollection of reported events by someone makes it very effective than simply including the scene in the story. It adds a great deal to the mystery and uncertainty in the overall story. It is very easy for readers to conclude that Sandman is the man behind the disappearance of the girl and that he also is the father of the girl. Unlike Electro, Sandman uses his superior powers to create a fantasy world for his child. Keeping it protected from the outside world is what causes the dual between him and Spider Man.

Iron Man is a popular fictional character that appears as a superhero in comic books and considering its popularity it was put on the silver screen in 2008 and Iron Man 2 is the sequel to the first part. The upcoming movie based on the character from the Marvel Comics is the second film in planned trilogy. The movie will see Robert Downey Jr. playing the role of Tony Stark who happens to be a billionaire and master engineer and also the superhero Iron Man.

The film is scheduled to come to the theatres in the first week of May next year. The plot of the movie is quite exciting. Tony Stark is the armoured superhero and he faces immense pressure from the government and the public to disclose his technology with the military. However, Tony is reluctant to let the cat out of the bag as he fears that information can be used wrongly. So, he forges an alliance with Pepper Potts which is played by Gwyneth Paltrow and James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) to confront the new forces.

The 2009 San Diego Comic Con saw a five minute teaser promo of the movie. Business cards which had an invitation for a job at Stark Industries were handed out by actors who portrayed the Stark Industries recruiters. The first theatrical trailer of Iron Man 2 was confirmed to be premiered at Sherlock Homes and it was released online on December 17 this year. Some of the vital clues related to the plot of the movie has also been made available on the internet.

This issue of the Invincible Iron Man gives the readers a real sense of urgency although it moves with a leisurely pace. Overall, the issue deals with the gradual mental and intellectual disintegration of Tony Stark. It also gives an account of the efforts of Black Widow and Maria Hill to contact Captain America and enlightens the reader with Pepper Potts’s emerging career as a superhero.

Matt fraction has done a fabulous job with the pacing of this issue. The earlier issues may suggest that it is a story of Tony Stark who is being pursued relentlessly by super villain and story about him getting sloppier and Norman Osborn failing to apprehend him at most occasions. But this would be an unfair description of the book.

Fraction has left many options open and has a number of secondary story threads to keep it interesting. Fraction may also have scripted a smart move by putting Pepper behind the mask. He also has given much attention to Madame Masque in the wake of her combat with “Rescue”. This move can be used in varying degrees against Osborn in the upcoming issues.

Salvador Larroca and Frank D’Armata have also done a commendable job when it comes to the artwork. The snowfield scene and the Shot of the HAMMER helicarrier are the ones that really showcase their talent. They have also given a great deal of consistency to the appearance of Norman Osborn which has not been seen in the earlier issues. Fraction has managed to arouse and sustain the interest of the readers in this issue by the gripping central concept. He has created a situation where it seems Tony is loosing it very quickly and only the next issues would tell how things are going to work out for him.
