Coming from the house of Marvel Comics, this issue of astonishing x-men written by Christos Gage is another interesting and exciting issue. As in the earlier series we know that four leaders of X-Men, Cyclops, Emma, Wolverine and Armor, are in Japan fighting monsters.

In the meantime, there has been an emergency that occurred, which require the attention of X-Men. Now, since the main leaders are far away, the rest of the X-Men army is in dilemma as to provide help or deny it.

However, how can you expect X-Men to stay behind when enemy attacks? Storm, Colossus and Kitty Pryde together with Beast and Agent Brand joins in the battle against this enemy. But the problem arises when the intergalactic law goes against the X-Men in letting them destruct their opponent.

The story is about how Storm and her team live up to the task. Another point of worry for this team is what Cyclops is going to say when he will be aware of all this.

It is quite interesting in this series because as one team of X-Men battling an enemy here simultaneously another adventure is taking place as the Monstrous are fighting in Astonishing X-Men in Japan. This concurrent dual adventure has never been seen before.

The marvel comics are making its entry to the amazing comics world with yet another exciting story. The main attractions of the comic this time would be the fight back spirit and actions of the X-Men against Stryker. This would be one of the last stands of this fighter team, the X-Men who is valiant enough to fight against any sort of mishaps taking place in the world. This group of fighters comprises of the Cyclops, Angel, Beast, Iceman and Marvel Girl; recruited by Prof. Xavier is always at the service of humanity and this time it will stand as a wall against Stryker to save lives.

However, Valerie Cooper also makes her entry in the comics who will try to fight and oppose Quicksilver as she is not liking the growing influence of Quicksilver on the President. She as an officer of the Office of National Emergency and due to her role of playing a link for the mutant affairs in the United States government, she wants to work for the safety of her nation and here as well she will be seen playing her responsibilities right.

Comprised of 32 pages and costing only $3.99, this fat X-MEN 4-View: Ultimate, Wolverine & X-Men, X-Factor, Legacy comics would be worth-reading that carries a wonderfully thrilling story written by Nick Spencer.

However, the last two issues of the series couldn’t get as much attention that was captured by the first three issues.

Though, there can be a number of reasons for this sudden failure in creating the same magic, one of the principal reasons is thought to be the absence of artist Brad Walker.

After spilling magic in the initial stories, it is quite shocking to see why it lagged behind in the fourth issue last month. We all hoped that the magic would be recreated in the fifth issue this month. But it seems the absence of Brad Walker is continuously having its impact in the minds of readers. Moreover, it seems the writing team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning are also struggling hard to deliver the kind of script required for a success, which they experience in the early editions.

The best part of this issue of Heroes for Hire is the fight portrayed between Misty Knight and The Punisher. The writers beautifully depicted Knight’s as a hero rather than subjecting her to be someone looking for a hero to get her out the trap of evil.

Story needs some extra dose of exciting elements and Robert Atkins and Rebecca Buchman’s art appears to be inconsistent. It seems that Brad Walker can play a great role in getting this book back on track.

Marvel Comics with its latest mini series “Thunder Strike”, the World still needs heroes, is trying to create the age old affect of the ‘Thunderstrike’ superhero comics that lasted years ago from 1993 to 1995. The hero of that series, an architect named Eric Masterson was a Thor originally and was named so after the mace who has granted him the power he possess. The original series during the period from 1993 – 95 has 24- issues, whereas the mini-series published this time has five-issues in total.

In the original series, the hero died at the end with a son behind named Kevin. In fact, he sacrificed his life so as to stop Bloodaxe’s curse. In the new series, the story takes up from where it left 15 years back. It begins with Kevin being a thug and a bullied teenage boy, furious about superheroes, who had to step into his father’s world of super heroism due to some situation. Tom DeFalco, the writer, has penned down the story in a very nice and clever way showing how Kevin started hating superheroes after the death of his father thinking them to be failures.

Ron Frenz, the co-creator of the character, who also designed the classic look of the cover did the art work of the mini-series along with Sal Buscema, and Todd Nauck. Bruno Hang, and Andres Mossa did the color. Overall, it is a series to look forward to. So, if you haven’t yet got a copy, go grab it now and enjoy the series Thunderstrike vol 1.
