Iron Man is a popular fictional character that appears as a superhero in comic books and considering its popularity it was put on the silver screen in 2008 and Iron Man 2 is the sequel to the first part. The upcoming movie based on the character from the Marvel Comics is the second film in planned trilogy. The movie will see Robert Downey Jr. playing the role of Tony Stark who happens to be a billionaire and master engineer and also the superhero Iron Man.

The film is scheduled to come to the theatres in the first week of May next year. The plot of the movie is quite exciting. Tony Stark is the armoured superhero and he faces immense pressure from the government and the public to disclose his technology with the military. However, Tony is reluctant to let the cat out of the bag as he fears that information can be used wrongly. So, he forges an alliance with Pepper Potts which is played by Gwyneth Paltrow and James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) to confront the new forces.

The 2009 San Diego Comic Con saw a five minute teaser promo of the movie. Business cards which had an invitation for a job at Stark Industries were handed out by actors who portrayed the Stark Industries recruiters. The first theatrical trailer of Iron Man 2 was confirmed to be premiered at Sherlock Homes and it was released online on December 17 this year. Some of the vital clues related to the plot of the movie has also been made available on the internet.

Thor is the creation of Stan Lee who is noted for his work in the comic industry. He has created a number of characters over the years that have won the heart of readers worldwide. According to Stan, the idea for Thor dawned on him after he had finished working on Hulk. He wanted to make Thor, the most powerful being on the planet but the difficult part was how to make him a god.

The character of Thor was created keeping in mind the Greek gods. Although, there has not been much information released about the movie, yet the rumor is that the film will see Chris Hemsworth play the role of Thor. Chris Hemsworth starred in the recent Star Trek movie as the father of Captain Kirks. Tom Hiddlestone of Casualty will play Loki and Brian Blessed, the guy from Flash Gordon will play Thors father Odin.

The movie seems to be on similar lines to Lord of the Rings. It is set in a fantasy world where Thor who comes from Norse gods almost starts a war by breaking a truce with the Frost Giants who are old enemies of his family. So, Odin sends Thor to earth to teach him a lesson. Thor is sent to the earth without his memory. Thor lives as Donald Blake, a doctor and it is only after a decade that he gets transformed into Thor. However, he again has to assume the identity of Jake Olsen. Thor is forever caught between his divine and adopted home.

The story begins in the 1985 set where superheroes still subsist. The president is Richard Nixon and the stress is all set between the US and Soviet Union. When one of the superhero is murdered masked vigilante Rorschach exposes the conspiracy to kill various heroes.
