To retain the popularity and the interest of the viewers, when the action serial Buffy the Vampire Slayer was off air, Joss Whedon had used the comic books as a medium to continue the popular franchise. He has once again opted for the same technique for one of his popular blogs called Dr. Horrible Sing-Along that became quite popular last year. The funny star cast of Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion was so wonderful and entertaining that people were left begging for more.
However, the ongoing new series called the Dollhouse and production of Cabin in the Wood meant that Whedon had to turn to his brother Zack and to the world of comic books to keep going with the story of Dr. Horrible. Zack apparently has managed to create a beautiful story with a young Dr. Horrible growing up to combat his arch rival Captain Hammer.
The wonderful writing makes up for the absence of the musical number that was there to be seen in the internet shot. The story suits the comic book medium to a great extent and with its great read the lovers of Dr. Horrible can keep their fingers crossed to get this story on a regular basis. The issue would also help readers kill some time before Whedon comes up with the official action internet sequel.
