Although the series “Young Avengers” only had twelve issues and a special one, it is interesting to know that it also has had 19 interim mini- series. Marvel probably keeps popping out these issues to engage the readers with Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung’s creations till the time they find a new creative team.
It has been seen that very few writers are willing to try their hands on the “Young Avengers” series and if Heinberg happens to release the claim on his characters, it seems that Sean McKeever would be the best person available to fit his shoes. McKeever has managed to handle the characters beautifully considering the limited issues that he had in his hands to draw something out. He has dealt with the interplay of the issue just the way Heinberg would have done.
Stature and Vision have made their entry in the “Mighty Avengers” and the other members have also been highlighted really well off late. The conversation between Hulkling and Wiccan in the initial part of the story provides the perfect possible start. The story flows beautifully thereafter and also maintains its pace.
McKeever has done exceptionally well when it comes to portraying the characters. He has created many instances that make the issue feel like a part of a much bigger series. The artwork of Mahmud A. Asrar is also very appreciable and he has shown great improvements when you compare his earlier work. He makes the characters recognizable very easily and has created them with round forms that are well proportioned.
