The entire story of “Secret Warriors” has been written beautifully by Jonathan Hickman who has managed to present the story in a series of scenes that build up to another and leading the story towards an exciting finish. Unlike other stories that revolve around a main character, the story of “Secret Warrior” gives an account of four different organizations and many sub-groups and has new characters taking the role of the central character.
The approach of the writer towards each issue may not be very satisfying for the readers but it promises an exciting destination for the readers in the future ahead. The issue begins with a resolution between the forces of Gorgon and Leviathan who has ended up in a fight in the last issue.
There is also a briefing on the origin of the Leviathan organization which extends back to the post World War II. The portrayal of the member of the Hydra ruling council seems very comedic and an unexpected start for the character.
The issue also enlightens the identity of Stonewall’s father. The work of the colourist Sunny Gho feels like a breath of fresh air and his work surely is very appreciable. The character of Caselli looked too bright and shiny when it was coloured by Daniele Rudoni. However, the use of darker colours by Gho really highlights the elements of Caselli which has not been shown before. Although there are many positives to have come out of this issue, the entire series would make a better read than any one issue on its own.
